LoHud Feature: Builders launch affordable housing push, Yonkers requires more low-cost units

Westchester residential builders, corporate leaders and fair housing backers on Thursday united to overcome resistance to affordable multi-family housing throughout the region.

The Building & Realty Institute launched a campaign called “Welcome Home Westchester” that takes a multi-pronged approach to the problem.

The trade organization aims to work with municipal leaders and their volunteer boards in an education campaign that will focus on affordable housing in multi-family developments as a way to address racial justice, climate change, and the need for nearby places to live for the county’s workforce.
